When my boys were young we spent our summers in a rural part of Washington State. It was a wonderful place for the boys to be out in nature but it felt very different from the manicured lawns and gardens I experienced when I was a child. 

There was a lavender farm nearby and I always loved taking them over to see those beautiful purple rows of lavender blowing in the wind. My love for lavender dates back to those times and so I have a real sweet spot in my heart for these beautiful flowers.

Lavender just feels like summer to me. Designing a print of lavender was not a huge leap in creativity, I’ll grant you that. But the idea of making and selling my own version of this beautiful flower was never a question. As the weather begins to turn warm I want to wrap myself in a lavender robe and feel the excitement of summer approaching and be reminded of those trips to the lavender farm with my children. 

Many of my friends have visited the beautiful lavender farms in France and England so this print will bring back those memories. Robes can be machine washed, tumble dried and ironed. They have been washed multiple times in the printing process so they will not shrink.
