September 2020: Brooks Brothers filed for bankruptcy and my cotton flannel was born. 

As I sat reading the newspaper on that September morning I saw many stories of how sad it was that Brooks Brothers had collapsed, but one story in particular really caught my eye. Brooks Brothers had become famous in America for their Madras patterns made in India. At the time, wearing Madras was a sign you well traveled and had been to India. I had grown up with those patterns; they held a place in my style memory.  I was now determined and excited  to bring my own versions of Indian madras  to life.

And so my design journey into the world of plaid/madras/tartan began. Most of you know how much I love my Indian manufacturing partner. Our great relationship meant he was my first call to understand how we could design modern plaid patterns. His reply confirmed my suspicions “we invented that style long before the British or Brooks Brothers, it's in our blood and I would love to create updated versions with you”. We were in business.

I have designed two plaid patterns (Madras is a summer fabric of lightweight cotton) in a cotton flannel that has elegant colors and a stylish pattern. We decided to brush the cotton on both sides to make it extra soft. The result is a new elegant plaid flannel that will keep you stylish and warm on cool days or cold winter nights.

Robes can be machine washed, tumble dried and ironed. They have been washed multiple times in the printing process so they will not shrink.
